Aaron Douglas Art Fair offers artists venue, community culture

The third annual Aaron Douglas Art Fair is coming up in about a month, but artists who want to a profit off the fair must act today. The deadline to enter a work of art is 5 p.m. Get your entry form here.
The organizers are looking for anything from watercolors to printed out digital creations.
"Anybody who as any sort of creativity we certainly suggest to send in a submission," said Eddie Saldanha, whose work has been selected to be used on all promotional materials.
The community-supported event showcases local artists and allows the community to connect to creative people and discover their own creativity.
The Aaron Douglas Art Fair is named after an African-American Renaissance painter native to Topeka. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1917 and eventually ended up teaching school in the Kansas City area. He later moved to New York City. Douglas has been called the "Dean of African-American painters."
The art fair is family friendly. There will be t-shirt painting, food and live music.
