Veto number 4 means no elevation parkway

Mayor Bill Bunten put the breaks on the elevation parkway.
This afternoon, Bunten vetoed the $1.4 million project that would allow the city to buy land for the project.
He said the city needs to address existing road problems before starting a new project.
Some city council members say the veto is the mayor trying to force the city council to approve a sales tax increase.
Bunten says that's not the case.
"The conditions of our streets is city wide and everybody knows about it," Bunten said. "It needs to be addressed. We don't have the money to address it. The veto of that doesn't have anything at all to do with the need for a sales tax."
This is Bunten's fourth veto this year.
