KU and K-State shine at Media Day in K.C.

If you can't wait for college football, you'll be happy to know today was a big first step toward the season.
Sports reporters from around the country headed to Kansas City for Big 12 Football Media Days.
Two of today's featured teams at Kansas City's downtown Marriott Hotel are from right here in Northeastern Kansas.
The Orange Bowl Champion Kansas Jayhawks sat down with members of the media to discuss the upcoming season. And the Hawks have already forgotten about last year's success.
"The kids enjoyed it, it was a great year. This group of kids are just so focused on being a really good team in 2008 that they kind of forgot about it," Coach Mark Mangino said.
Joining Coach Mangino and his Hawks were the Kansas State Wildcats.
Coach Ron Prince and select Wildcat players also shared their expectations for the upcoming season.
"We expect to win every game we play. We know that there's a way to win every game. We know it's not always easy. Sometimes you got to be a little bit creative,: Coach Ron Prince said. "Sometimes you have to manage your issues to win a game. But that's our expectation and that's the way we've approached every game since we've been here."
Both KU and K-State kick off their seasons at home on August 30.
