Motorist Alert: Crews to close I-70 ramp to U.S. 75

Headed north of town this weekend? A bridge repair project may slow you down.

The eastbound I-70 to northbound U.S. Highway 75 ramp in Topeka will be closed this weekend starting at 7 August 1. The ramp is expected to re-open at 6 Monday morning.

Advance message boards will alert drivers to the ramp closure. The detour is as follows: Traffic will follow eastbound I-70 to MacVicar Avenue, exit 359, where they will then turnaround at the interchange, and proceed back west on I-70 to northbound U.S. 75.

Crews are working to replace existing strip seal expansion joints on the bridge ramp. The project is expected to cost $48,000.

Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
