Want to go to Country Stampede for free? Volunteer

Country Stampede needs a few good hands.

The outdoor party and country music festival begins June 26. Volunteers are needed for all four days of the event.

He said the Stampede uses approximately 350 volunteers each year to set up, tear down, clean up and serve beverages during the festival.

Requirements

The requirements to volunteer for the 13th annual Country Stampede are:

  • Be 18 years of age
  • Work all four days -- five hours each day
  • Enjoy the atmosphere.

"This is a good deal for those who volunteer. They receive a free Stampede T-Shirt, lunch and dinner for each of the days they work and special seating near the VIP area and a four day pass to the festival, plus an employee parking pass," volunteer coordinator Mick McCallister said.

Volunteers can contact McCallister, volunteer coordinator, at 785-223-2551 or email mickmccallister@embarqmail.com.

This is the 13th year for the festival. It's held at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan.

Headline entertainers for the event include Little Big Town, Randy Owen, Sugarland, Terri Clark, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Rodney Adkins and Josh Turner. Rouse said several of the groups coming in have patriotic songs and are very supportive of the military.

Festival organizers say the festival is a salute to men and women serving in the military.
