Topekans who rely on Meals on Wheels got a special treat today.
KTKA General Manager Kathy Mohn hit the streets today to deliver meals to needy citizens.
It's part of the organization's "Big Wheels Delivering Meals" program.
The goal is to let those who help pay for Meals on Wheels experience what the organization is about.
Alongside a volunteer, Kathy delivered about ten meals.
She also got to spend some time with each person, which is an important part of the process.
"The fact that it's really a safety check on those clients we deliver the meals to, the fact the clients really appreciate seeing somebody. It may be the only person they see today," Meals on Wheels CEO Jane Metzger said.
The mayor also delivered meals today.
Meals on Wheels delivers more than 700 meals each day.

I was cleaning today and found this old email which I sent out to a group of friends & family when I first got back from SA over six years ago... being away from SA for a year and a half now, it was a good feeling to re-remember when I first "fell in love".
