Flood Warning issued for area counties

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a flash flood warning for Lyon County until 6:30 p.m.

At 3:37 p.m. moderate rain was still moving across portions of Lyon county. More rain is expected. This will combine with saturated soil to continue the flood threat for the county. Some roads across portions of southwest Lyon County were closed due to water over the road. With the additional rainfall, travel problems can be expected.

Locations impacted include Admire, Allen, Americus, Emporia, Hartford, Neosho Rapids, Olpe and Reading.

This includes the Kansas Turnpike and Interstate 35.

Locations impacted include Lawrence, Burlington, Carbondale, Eudora, Gridley, LeRoy, Lebo, Lyndon, Melvern, Osage City, Overbrook, Pomona, Quenemo, Scranton, Clinton Lake, Pomona Lake and Melvern Lake.
